I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I spent my 20-40's living in small towns, close to mountains, forests and hope to return to living in a small town again one day. In the meantime, I reside in the house I grew up in, surrounded by an abundance of books that my mother has collected throughout her life, and now, willingly allows me to read.

I spend my free time searching for ancestors as my father never knew very much about his own family. Dad's mother didn't discuss the other members of her family very often, and unfortunately, took whatever knowledge she had to the grave with her. My father, his brother and their sister had no idea of who they were related to or where they came from. As of today I have found over 1,600 members of their family. I only wish that they had lived long enough to know that they came from a great family line, filled with terrific people, of whom, created a better world for their descendants to live in.

My mother's family is quite the challenge as her mother came from Galicia in the Ukraine and between being ruled by Austria, Hungary, Poland, records are sparse or difficult to find right now. My Grandmother and her brothers were able to escape the War and come to Canada and luckily she did, or I wouldn't be here today.

I love genealogy, the search for family has become something I just do without thinking on a daily basis. Hunting for ancestors has become a passion that I feel blessed with and I look forward to enjoying for many years to come. My mind has been exposed to so many different aspects of life and of living as I've searched for my ancestry. The knowledge I have gained from searching for ancestors, truly has, fulfilled a part of me that was missing. I hope your journey will be as rewarding as I've come to know mine.

I'm currently researching the following families: Billings (England, USA and Canada) Spencer, (England, USA and Canada), Cavanagh (Ireland, England, Australia, Canada) and Romaniuk (Ukraine and Canada).
