Johnanna Hensley was born in the Flint District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, on July 13, 1860. She was the 2nd child and 2nd daughter of Samuel Hensley and Lydia Teehee. Samuel and Lydia were also the parents of Margaret Hensley.

She had children by four men and was the mother of 11 known children:

Caleb Ellis Starr (1878) and Johnanna had 2 children, William Starr b. 1879 and Joe C Starr b. 1881. In 1880 she was unmarried, listed as John Anna Hensley and had her first son by Starr.^[1]

John E Welch (1884) and Johnanna had 2 children, Charlie Welch b. 1885 and Jesse Welch b. 1887.

Martin Hopper and Johnanna had one child together, Martin Hopper b. 1888 (1888) .^[2]

She married George Bud Parris about 1892. George and Johnanna had 6 children:

Research Notes

Grave marker has dod 14 Dec 1928, but FG has 13th.

Doubtful she was actually married to all these men, or any of them, except Bud. In 1880 she is John Ann Hensley, single, while Caleb E. Starr is md. to and living with someone else. She is enumerated as 'Hansley' in 1890, unmarried and youngest child is only 8mo. while all the fathers are supposedly still living.
