Death, 10 Oct 1863 , Georgia, records of civil war service at Fold3 under V W Herron. Co H, 24th SC Regiment', Captain D.F Hill of Co F records indicate V W Herron died in a hospital at Newnan? GA . It's possible he fought at Chickamauga Sept 1863 but do not know if this is fact. Burial site not known.
