Friedrich was born on June 9, 1882 in the village of Neudorf in the Glückstal district of the Odessa area and Black Sea region of South Russia to Johann Hieb and Alexandra (Bohlaender) Hieb. He was the last of their 7 children.[1]
Immigration
On April 22, 1892, at the age of 9, Friedrich, his parents, and 2 siblings, arrived in New York aboard the S.S. Trave traveling from Bremen, Germany.[2]

On May 17, 1927, at the age of 44, Friedrich passed away in Chamberlain, SD.[3]
