John J Henry Higgins was born on 14 Aug 1754 in Prince William, Colony of Virginia, son of John Higgins (~1730–~1821) and Pricilla Doyle (1731–~1767).

John (19) married Mary G. Unknown (12) (born about 1760) on 10 Dec 1773 in South Carolina[1]. Their children were:

  1. Jane Higgins (1781–1850)
  2. Reuben Higgins (1787–1857)

In the 1840 census Henry was in Mossy Creek, Habersham, Georgia, United States.[2]

John died about 6 Nov 1845 in Habersham County, Georgia, United States, aged 91. Henry was mentioned on a memorial with a death date of 6 Nov 1845.[3]

Per FindAGrave:

"Henry was said to be the son of John and Priscilla Higgins and husband of Mary G. Higgins. Known children are Reuben C., John J., Jane (Brock) and Mary Ann Higgins.

Info from the Genealogical Abstract of Rev. War Pension Files, Vol. II extracted by Virgil D. White, p. 1628 says Henry Higgins (R4982) SC line. Sol. Appl. 22 Oct. 1840 Habersham Co., GA, aged 86. He lived in York Dist. SC at enlistment, Richland Dist.SC, then to Greenville Dist., SC, then to Franklin Co. GA then to Habersham, GA.

A son, Reubin, aged 62, made affidavit 5 May 1853 in Gilmer Co., GA and stated soldier died November 1845 leaving a widow, Mary G., who died 4 April 1846, and that they had married 10 Dec. 1787.

Since there does not seem to be a record of Henry's burial place, we respectfully submit this virtual memorial until his resting place is found. (If this is a duplicate I have not found the original.)"
