Biography
When Joseph Russell Hill and his twin brother Benjamin Franklin were born on March 7, 1826, in Tennessee, their father, William, was 33, and their mother, Jane, was 35. He married Nancy Burkhalter on April 21, 1853, in Cass, Texas;[1] their known children are:

- Paulina A (1858–)
- William P (1860–)
- Flemming (1863–)
- Julia (1865–)
- Robert M (1867–1925)[2]
- Babe (1869–)
- Nancy Azaline (1872–)
He died on April 19, 1892, in Cass, Texas, at the age of 66, and was buried there.[3]
