Biography

Sandy June Hill was born on October 15, 1799, in Barren, Kentucky and a son of Isaac Hill and Mildred Hines. Sandy married Sarah Ann Hays, daughter of Joseph Hays and Jemima Allee on March 11, 1818 in Barren County, Kentucky. [1] The 1820 U. S. Federal Census, has him living in Monroe County, Kentucky. 1821 --- Kentucky Tax Lists --- Name Sandy Hill -- County: Barren -- State: Kentucky -- White Male Over 21: 1 -- Blacks Under Age of 16: 0 -- Blacks Over 16 And Older: 0 -- Horses and Mares: 2 -- Total Value: 50 ----- Source: Kentucky Tax Books. The 1822 Kentucky tax lists, shows him with no slaves and two horses and mares. [2] In 1824, Sandy was involved in a real estate conveyance after the death of his father, Isaac Hill. His father stated in this agreement that if the Missouri family members would return to Kentucky they would get a share of his estate. The heirs went to court and broke that part of the conveyance, They then moved the whole family to Missouri, including their mother, Mildred Hill. [3][4] [5]

Slaves of Sandy Hill -- County; Moniteau -- State: Missouri --- David Runnels married Mariah Runnels. Mariah is buried in the Sandy Hill Cemetery, about three miles northwest of California, Moniteau County, Missouri. The grave marker reads: Margaret, wife of David Runnels -- Born: 1845 -- Died: 1884 --- Joe Hale married to Ansidire Hale. Ansidire would come about once a year to visit Alex and always spent one day with Eliza Hill Allee and is buried at Sedalia, Missouri. Had a son named: Alex Hale who worked for many years at the Hysell and Houser Store. [6]
