Marie Gore, 73, of Springfield died at 1:52 p.m. Thursday at her residence. She was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Johnson County, the daughter of Harvey and Rosa Johnson Hinkle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Gore, in 1985 and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Gore had been a resident of Springfield since the 1950s. Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Rhodes of New Berlin and Joyce Bredthauer of Wilmington; a son, Bill of Creve Coeur, Mo.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Rush of Charleston, Betty Thompson and Helen Rutherford, both of Springfield; a brother, Charles Hinkle of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam Wilcoxen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.[1][2]
