Leonard Hinkley was only two years old when he died of diphtheria, so his biography is brief. He was the second of two sons of David Hinckley and his wife May Scott Hinckley.
He is buried in Winneconne Cemetery in Winneconne, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, in the family plot. His headstone records that he was the son of D. and M. Hinckley, and it includes this verse:
Sleep on, Sweet Pumpkin and take your rest
God called you home, He thought it best.
