If any daughter die before marriage, then her portion is to lapse. If the £4 is in arrears in part [...] whole after the death of Thomas Huls for 40 days after any day of payment, the daughters may distrain for arrears and expenses."[11]

Doubts about Margaret Dodd being Alice's Mother

  • In the deed above, Alice is referred to as Alice Hinton Dot, which is probably a misspelling of Dodd.
  • Greeting is sent to John Dod of Clorley esq. Alice's grandfather and uncle (her mother's half-brother) were both called John Dodd of Cloverley[5] aka Clorley.

Hinton-3430 and Hinton-33 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate profiles originally and incorrectly attributed as mother of Rev john Howse of Eastwell, Kent. Now disconnected and merge proposed.
Again. Family search was my source.

Where on family search did you find something? Family trees are not valid sources for Pre-1700 profiles. They must be reliable sources. Family search has profiles and family trees, as well as actual sources. Those are required on Pre-1700 profiles.

Hi Victoria,

What is your source to prove that Alice (Hinton) Howse is the mother of John Howse and the wife of Thomas Howse?

Thank you, David

Her marriage contract is here: http://www.house-empire.com/personpage.lasso?token.cardid=1940

Her alleged mother's ancestry is almost certainly false.
