Isaac (Sr.) Hitchcock was also a great-great-great grandfather to my husband, John. Many books have chronicled the historic journey of the 1844 Stephens-Townsend-Murphy wagon, which was the first to travel across the Sierra Nevada Mountains. And many books have mentioned his name, Isaac Hitchcock. This gives me faith that pioneer history is not forgotten and the contribution made by these brave men, women and children will prevail for our future generations.
