Ebenezer served as a private from New Haven, Connecticut during the Revolutionary War. He was granted a pension for his service. His original deposition is part of the Widows Pension file, # W7588, of his second wife, Lucy (Pratt) Hitchcock Griffith. In his deposition, Ebenezer stated that after the Revolutionary War he lived in New Haven, Connecticut for six or seven years; then in Northfield, Vermont for about seven or eight years; next in Granville, New York for about 17 years and lastly to Warsaw, Genesee County, New York for about 18 years and where he was still living at the time of his deposition which was given 6 Oct 1832.
