Explanation of change of birth year.

I changed the birth year from 1742 to 1755. Depositions taken from John Kindrick and others in the case of James Hobbs vs Vincent Hobbs stated that in the year 1772 James Hobbs "was a boy of 17 years."

Biography

In a suit filed in the Chancery Court of Augusta County Virginia, James Hobbs sued his father Vincent Hobbs claiming he sold land that James had settled in the year 1772 to Willliam Williams and had done so by aquiring illegal title to that land. James stated the he went with a company to fight the Indians and did not return for 20 years. Upon his return he discovered that his land had been sold by his father.
