Biography

Ezekiel C Hodges was born 12 Jun 1802 in Franklin, Virginia, USA. Parents: Isham Hodges and Elizabeth Clay.

He inherited from father, Isham II 31 Acres (bequeathed unto my son Ezekiel land lying on E (entry made by Kentucky warrant) & on South side of 45 Acres on which he now lives, to him & heirs forever. Isham's will: "Bequeath unto my son Ezekiel 31 Acres land lying on East (entry made by Kentucky warrant) & on South side of a 45 Acre on which he now lives, to him & heirs forever."

He married Rebecca Dorris 1823 in Tennessee. [1][2][3]

Censuses: 1830 - 300 Acres value reflects Ezekiel married and many children. This early census only reflects the wife and family as "tic marks" rather than names.[4]"United States 1840 - [5]

1860 School Teacher, 400 Acres, 217 value personal [6].

1870 Farmer 150 Acre- [7]

Ezekiel passed away after 1875. [8].
