Margaret (Hollingsworth) Carter was a Virginia colonist.

Margaret Hollingsworth was born 28 March 1715 in Cecil County, Maryland, to Abraham Hollingsworth and Ann Robinson.[1] She married Benjamin Carter about 1738 in Orange County, Virginia.

She was not mentioned by name in her father’s will of 1748, however he did mention Benjamin Carter as his son-in-law.[2] Her mother made her will 2 March 1748/9 and left “a Quantity of Linnen yarn that I have at the weavers to my 2 Daughter Margaret Cartar & Lydia Neill.”[3] That is the last known reference to Margaret Hollingsworth Carter.

Research Notes

Her year of marriage is based on her birth year and the estimated birth years of her children.
