I am not sure how to "adopt" a profile, however, I'll try to figure that out per your suggestion for Sarah Stamper.

To leave a profile ( abandon a profile completely) go to the 'Privacy' Tab of that profile. Go down to the trust list section and click on the 'Remove Yourself' button. Thats all there is to it :-)

I noticed you adopted a couple living Stamper profiles. Their father, another Stamper, needs a profile manager, too. He's currently managed by the administrative Team. Actually a chunk of his family is. Are you interesting in adopting them as well?
