      • 1860 Census Anderson, Texas had the last name spelled Honeycut, by 1880 Census Shackleford, Texas, John and his brother Alfred name spelled Alph were living together with occupation raising cattle. He and his first wife are buried in the Albany Cemetery, Shackleford County, Texas.
      • His obituary said his father died leading an expedition to Mexico on the Llano River in 1865. After his father's death his Mother remarried.

***John Honeycutt and his brother Alfred appeared in a local newspaper in the year 1874 saying they raised cattle and sheep. The two brothers bought land in Stephens and Shackleford Counties,Texas. He married Carina Myrtis King in Shackleford in 1882. He married Elsie Dora Ivey before 1903 in Shackleford and had children by both. He and Elsie moved to Del Rio, Val Verde Co. Texas by 1911.
