Research Notes

Hannah Hotchkiss married a Noah Barnes, but there is some doubt that the Noah Barnes-5735 profile given as her husband is the correct Barnes, due to a reference in "Doolittles of America" that Hannah Doolittle-1579 married a Noah Barnes in this same generation and same location. With the lack of clarity for the mother's LNAB in the birth records and missing marriage records, we are not able to be certain which Hannah married this Noah Barnes-5735, however, a key piece of evidence is that a son of Desiree (Barnes-14815) Wooding was named Henry Hotchkiss Wooding. There is no Hotchkiss name found in several generations of the antecedents of Barnes-5735 or Doolittle-1579 or Wooding-110. This circumstantial evidence makes Hannah Hotchkiss-417 the more likely spouse of Barnes-5735.
