Gerrit House was born on January 24, 1782 at German Flatts, Herkimer, New York[1] and baptized February 6, 1781 at German Flatts, Herkimer, New York.[2][3] He was probably the Gerrit House living at Amboy, Oswego, New York in 1840.[4] Shaver says that Garrit House moved away and the relatives that Shaver was in contact with lost track of Garrit.
