He died intestate in Montgomery County. An inventory of his personal estate was made on August 11, 1818, at which time Elizabeth R. Howard filed as the administratrix. The Star of Federalism of August 7, 1818, announced his death on July 29, 1818, in the Courthouse of Montgomery County."
