Biography

Daniel Thomas Howard was the son of Joseph Howard and Mary Alifare Cribb.

In the 1860 census D (age 4) was in Prince George Parish Division 2, Georgetown, South Carolina.[1]

In the 1870 census Thomas (age 13), At Home, was in Collins, Georgetown, South Carolina.[2]

In the 1880 census Thos (age 22), Spt. Cask Cooper, was the married head of household in Lake, Williamsburg, South Carolina, United States.[3]

In the 1900 census Daniel (age 44), Farmer, was the married head of household in Collins, Georgetown, South Carolina.[4]

Daniel died on 6 August 1908 and was buried in Georgetown County, South Carolina, United States.[5]

Notes

  • Daniel and Mary Ann's daughter Mary Margaret Howard born about 1883 and died 28 Jun 1962 in Georgetown at the age of 79. This record lists her father Daniel Thomas Howard (In error it was transcribed, Thomas Daniel) and Mary Ann Creel.[6]
  • His father Joseph Howard died during the American Civil War. It is unknown why his mother used the name Altman for herself and all her children in the 1870 census. They returned to using Howard after that.
