Biography

Thomas Hudson was born in 1774 in Granville’s District (later North Carolina).[citation needed]

He was the son of Cuthbert Hudson and Elizabeth Hall.[1]

Thomas is mentioned in his father’s 30 Sep 1799 will recorded 20 Apr 1801 and probated in Elbert County, Georgia. He was bequeathed the plantation on which his father lived.[1]

Children include:

  • Martha Clay, b 19 Apr 1808 Georgia (see Research Note on her profile)
  • Rhoda , b 18 Jun 1817 Indiana[2]

In 1815, Thomas was taxed for property in Elbert County, Georgia.[3]

Thomas purchased land 12 Jul 1819 in Jefferson County, Indiana[4] and again acquired land 7 Apr 1825 in Jefferson County.[5]

Possible duplicate or conflated profile: Thomas Hodson (1767-1847)

No sources have been found to support Nancy Ann (Burton) Hudson (1780-) as his wife.

Possibly the Thomas Hudson who died 19 Aug 1847, aged 75-78 years, and buried at Franklin Cemetery in Silver Lake, Kosciusko County, Indiana (Find A Grave: Memorial #30903716) whose wife Rachel Hudson died 17 Feb 1853, aged 86 years, buried at the same cemetery (Find A Grave: Memorial #30903723).
