AUGUSTUS HUFF, prominent Laurens citizen who died at his home Sunday night, were held from the Huff residence on West Main street Tuesday morning, the service being led by the Rev. P.F. KILGO, pastor of the Methodist church of which he had been a member for many years. Other ministers of the city assisted and the interment was at the Laurens Cemetery.
MR. HUFF was a native of Greenville county. After his marriage to MISS CLAUDIA SULLIVAN, of the Tumbling Shoals section, he located and successfully engaged in farming near Brewerton. His first wife died about 40 years ago, and his second marriage was to a MISS RICHARDSON of the Mountville section. She survives, together with 3 sons, and 3 daughters, ERNEST HUFF , of the first union, PHIL D. HUFF, Laurens, and OTIS P. HUFF, student at the Univ. of S.C., MRS. H.E. CARTLEDGE, Augusta, MRS. DAN SAWYER, of Salley and MISS ANNIE HUFF , who is teaching school at Lumberton, N.C.
Some 30 years ago MR. HUFF moved to Laurens and engaged in the fertilizer business. He was a man of a high sense of honor and was respected for his integrity and uprightness of life. He was about 70 years of age.
