- Obituary: Edward A. Hughes died April 7, 1883 at the age of 80. He is buried at the Lyon's Rural Cemetery in Lyon's NY. Edward Hughes was born in Ireland around 1803. He married Katherine Tierney Egan in NY around 1860. Mr. Hughes lived in Galen, NY. He leaves his wife Katherine, daughters: Elizabeth Hughes, Marzella Hughes Lake, sons: Matthew, Andrew, and John Hughes. Very little obit listed in the Clyde Times 4-12-1883. [1]
