Archibald was born in 1856. He was a marble cutter who worked on tombstones. To supplement his income he also was a ‘Butter and eggs’ man, selling locally probably with a horse- drawn cart.

He married Jane Quayle November 1876 in Elizabeth, New Jersey.[2]

He and his wife Jenny had eight children, two of them died young. Archie Hunt died in 1917 after being bitten by something, possibly a snake, while working on a tombstone in a cemetery.

He was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Flushing, Queens, NY.
