John and Susannah were in Jefferson County OH by 1820, near Bergholz. Their daughter Nancy married Lemuel Adams in 1842, and Lemuel died in 1849. Nancy and apparently her parents and other family all moved in late 1849 and early 1850 to Buchanan and Delaware Counties in Iowa, where Nancy remarried. Iowa had only just been admitted to the Union, in 1846. They all appear in the 1850 Iowa census
