Elden Grant Hurst was born on May 17, 1922 in Lynndyl, Millard, Utah, United States, son of Albert Leroy Hurst (about 1880–1961) and Alice Lambert Romney (1881–1923).

His siblings were:

Elden (23) married Josephine Bybee Rollins (23) (born on December 6, 1921 in Mountain Green, Morgan, Utah, USA; daughter of Zina Pearl (Bybee) Rollins) on June 23, 1945 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA.

Elden passed away on May 23, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, aged 87. He was buried in Mountain Green Cemetery, Mountain Green, Morgan County, Utah.[1]
