Note N63PBB: The various sources that we found stated that Cornelia, daughter of Mason, was married in Bath, SC in 1861. Both John Thomas (Cornelia's husband) and Cornelia were living in the homes of their parents in Richmond County, NC at the time of the 1880 census. We also found evidence that his 3 youngest children settled in the area of Aiken County, SC and Richmond County, Georgia (adjoining counties). Jane Berger and her husband, Jake, located several of the gravesites and took pictures. I kept trying to figure it out and finally decided that Mason and Sarah must have moved to the area. I found Mason in Aiken County, SC in the 1900 census listed as a widower with his two youngest daughters still living in the home. They were living in a milltown area. Elmma was listed as a weaver and Mollie as a warper. Many of the neighbors also had weaving occupations. In weaving, a series of warp threads are laid lengthwise on the frame (whether it be a loom, a machine, etc.) and then other threads, the weft threads, are woven in and out.
