Notes to reader--There exists much debate over the name of John Burton's wife. She is widely agreed on as 'Rachel' but her surname has NEVER BEEN PROVEN. There are two names most frequently put forward, Cox and Hutchins, and each of these have facts to support their respective sides. I have included some info below regarding this.
ALSO it has not yet been proven WHERE [within Virginia] Rachel was born, and WHEN is at present an approximation, as is her marriage date. It IS known that she died prior to 12 Feb 1689, the date of her husband's will, in which she is not named.
Review Find A Grave: Memorial #188279619 for more information, which also has some Sources stated.
