Biography

She was born at Norwich, Conneticut December 3, 1761 the only child of Silas and Martha Hyde ^[1] and was a great-granddaughter of John HYDE. She was the only daughter of Martha (Waterman) and Silas Hyde (or Hide) of Norwich, Connecticut. ^[1] Rachel married on 25 Aug 1793 at Franklin, Connecticut and became the second wife of Eliphalet Dewey of Lebanon. ^[1]

Rachel died on 17 Aug 1846 in Ohio at 83 years and was buried at Cadiz Union Cemetery, Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio. ^[2]
