Friedrich "Fred" Johann Jochim Ihda was born about 1824 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin.^[1] He emigrated to the United States.

In 1851, he married Maria "Mary" Friedericke Foss.^[2][3]

They had at least six children:

1. Amelia Ihda (later Westenhaver) (1851-1891)
2. Krishanna Dora Ihda (later Jones) (1853-1924)
3. Lucinda Josina Ihda (later Foss) (1855-1911)
4. Clara Anna Ihda (later Helms) (1857-1947)
5. Mary Ihda (later Field) (1859-1924)
6. Albert David Ihde (1861-1956)

Fred passed away about 1900.
