Margaret was born in 1854. She died in 1926 at the age of 71.
Parents: John Irwin 1808 - 1866 and Mary (McDonneley) Irwin 1825 - 1897. They were both born in Ireland.
Spouse: Albert Gerineus Ryan 1852 - 1919. They were married 9/26/1878 in Lawrence, Illinois. I have the original certificate. Findagrave #14791612
Children:
1. Rosella Ryan 1879 - 1959
2. Lewis Francis Ryan 1884 - 1973
1) Margaret joined the Zion Methodist Church at the age of 12. After she married, in 2/1879, they moved to Billett, Illinois.
2) Newspaper clipping for their marriage (I have the clipping):
"At the residence of Mrs. Mary Jane Irwin, in Denison township, Thursday evening, Sept. 26, by Rev. W. S. Hennessy, Mr. Albert G. Ryan to Miss. Margaret A. Irwin.
This wedding was a quiet one, but the parties are well known and have the congratulations and best wishes of a host of friends. The bride is a young lady who is loved and respected for her many excellent qualities and the groom is a young man of worth and intelligence. We hope their pathway through life may be prosperous and happy."
3) Obituary: "Mrs. Margaret Ann Ryan died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harrison Belt on May 27,1926. Mrs. Ryan was a daughter of John and Mary Irwin and was born in Lawrence County. She came of a family of nine children of whom there are only two remaining, Mrs. Lewis Leighty and C. M. Irwin of this county.
In 1878 she was united in marriage to Albert G. Ryan, who died March 19, 1919. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Harrison Belt of this city and Lewis F. Ryan of Tampa, Florida. Both of whom survive her. Three grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Ryan was a charter member of the Methodist Church at Billet, joining at the age of twelve years. Services and internment, both took place there with Rev. Paul Brown in charge." (from newspaper clipping, I have the original)
For me: note I found in papers from my mother. "At Billett Cemetery, was 6 graves. 4 were taken by Albert, Margaret, Lewis, Bessie. 2 graves left. Suppose Ray has the deed." Ray is not buried there. Are there 2 plots left they owned? Albert & Margaret were 2nd Great Grandparent's to me. Lewis was my Great, Grand Uncle and his wife, Bessie.
