Biography

U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Sarah (Jackson) Piggot was a North Carolina colonist.

SARAH JACKSON is the daughter of ISAAC JACKSON and MARY PEARSON.[1]

On the 8th day of the third month 1792, SARAH JACKSON, daughter of ISAAC and MARY JACKSON of Orange County, North Carolina married WILLIAM PIGGOT son of WILLIAM and SARAH PIGGOT of Chatham County, North Carolina.[2]

The 1800 Census for Chatham County, North Carolina enumerated the household of WILLIAM PIGGOT with one male 26 to 44, and one female 26-44.[3] In 1810 the household of Wm. Piggott was enumerated with:

one male under 10, one male 26 to 44, two females under 10, one female 16-25, one female 26-44 [4]

Given the fact SARAH was not mentioned in the Last Will and Testament of ISAAC JACKSON written in 1824, she perhaps died before 1824. The Quaker Cane Creek monthly meeting records recorded SARAH PIGGOT wife of Wm. PIGGOT departed this life on the night between the 10th & 11th of the fifth month 1811.[5] [This death record is being used for the SARAH PIGGOT, the mother of spouse WILLIAM PIGGOT; however, his mother remarried an Elliott so her name would not be recorded in 1811 as PIGGOT.]
