Biography
Ann Jarvis was born before 02 Jun 1803, which was her baptism date, in Birmingham, Warwickshire to James Jarvis and Sarah Bullock.
Ann married James Bird Hill, who enlisted in the Queen's 2nd Royal Regiment of Foot (West Surrey) in 1819 as James Bird (his mother's maiden name and his middle name), on 18 Sept 1820 in Aston Juxta Birmingham.
James was killed at the The Storming of Ghazni, Afghanistan on 23 Jul 1839, and Ann returned to her parents house, in Burton Overy, with her children.
She gradually went blind and was probably fairly devastated when most of her children and their families joined the Mormon Migration to Utah, leaving Ann blind and alone in Burton Overy.
Ann died in 1878.
