Little is known about Mary "Polly" Jasper. She was the daughter of Achilles and :Sarah Harris Jasper. She married John "Jack" Norvell on Sept, 6, 1837 and bore :him 5 children. There is no record of where she was buried. She doesn't show on :"Find A Grave". It is possible that she was buried on their own land, or in the Old :Nickells Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, or in the old Record Cemetery which is :now called Highland where her Father In Law Nathaniel Norvell is reputed to be :buried.
Polly & John moved to Missouri with her parents Achilles and Sarah along with :the Norvell clan.
Dates from the births of the children of the jasper's & Norvell's indicate :that they may have been in Missouri as early as 1842. John disappears from the :Pulaski County Kentucky after the 1839 tax record. The 1840-1842 records are illegible and he doesn't show on them in 1842.
Achilles owned land in Platte County in Jan. 1842 where he was appointed receiver by the state land office at Savanna in Andrew County.
Holt County History say that John & Polly say that they settled in Holt County, Missouri in 1847 after Sarah was born. John was a successful farmer and well known in the community.
Holt County is in the Northwest corner of Missouri and was part of the Platte Purchase.
