Jasper was born on April 1, 1843, at Bull Creek in Campbell County, Tennessee. Bull Creek became part of Scott County, Tennessee on December 17, 1849. He was the son of Robert G.H. Jeffers and Alesy ( Cox ) Jeffers . Jasper married Elizabeth Newport around 1865 in Scott County. he passed away on May 7, 1901 at Cordell in Scott County.
Jasper Jeffers (age 37 and b. in TN) was head of a household in the 1880 census for Bull Creek, Scott Co., TN. He was living with his wife Elizabeth (age 38 and b. in Tn), son Fielding (age 14 and b. in TN), son Berry (age 12 and b. in TN), daughter Mary (age 6 and b. in Tn), son Monroe (age 4 and b. in TN), and son Esaw (age 2 and b. in TN). Jasper was a farmer.
Obituary,
Jasper Jeffers, born April 7, 1843, departed this life May 7, 1901. Joined the church in 1873, and was clerk of the Bull Creek Church for several years. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn after him. While the family is now divided, may the time come when they all shall meet in heaven, where parting shall be no more. ( The West Union Association United Baptists' Minutes 1893-1946 ).
