Rulon Timpson Jeffs was born on the 6th December 1909 at
Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. [1] He was the son of David Jeffs and Nettie Timpson.
Occupation: Accountant Rulon Timpson Jeffs was a graduate of the LDS Business College. After graduating he went to work as an accountant for the Utah State Tax Commission. He retired from his accounting practice in 1984, and moved to Hildale, Utah in September, 1998.

On the 1st June, 1934 Rulon married Zola Grace Brown[4] She was the daughter of Hugh B. Brown and Zina Card. Zola was born on April 12 1911, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.

Zola divorced Rulon Timpson Jeffs IN 1941 when he chose to marry his first pluralist wife. On April 14, 1941, just two weeks after Zola divorced him, Rulon was excommunicated from the LDS Church. He moved into a house on Lincoln Street in Salt Lake City, which, at the time, was a center for polygamist activity. Zola took the couple's two young sons and moved to Pasadena, California, United States.
