Biography

Cert to Haverford Meeting from Phila Meeting 1730. Married first Isaac Walker of Trydiffrin Township, then 2nd Jacob Thomas of Willistown Township who lived to 1765, not long after their marriage. "The eloquant tongue or pen of a ready writer, can they set forth all her virtues? In her last sickness she appeared all love. One evening during her illness one of her grandchildren, Enoch Walker, sitting by her bedside, spoke in affectionate manner of his dealy beloved grandmother, how she had been blessed from her youth until a good old age, what a large family she was going to leave and not a profane person among them. She died most calmly and peacefully. Her parents died in her minority and I have heard her say how blessed her life had been. How the Lord had tenderly cared for her all her live. She was a most tender, affectionate mother, a good neighbor, most careful and tender for poor bound children, saying such had none but the Lord to cry unto. She was my Great grandmother. I remember well saying to her, "Why, thee don't look much older thatn my grandfather." She replied, "I am only eighteen years older." She died 9/26/1802 at the house of her daughter Rachel, at Easttown, and was buried in the Valley graveyard by the side of her husband Isaac Walker.[1] The number of her children, granchildren and great-granchildren was one hundred and sixty-two."
