[1] THIS INDENTURE made the twenty sixth day and twenty seventh day of November MDCCXXX Between JOHN GETAR of the one part and WILLIAM HENRY TERRETT of the other part Witnesseth that sd JOHN GETAR for the sum of thirty pounds Sterling hath granted unto the sd WILLIAM HENRY TERRETT (in his actual possession now being by Virtue of an Indenture for one year and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession) and to his heirs & assigns forever one hundred and fifty acres of land in Essex County being the moiety or half part of a PATTENT formerly granted to RICHARD WEST & ROGER CLOTWORTHY lying on the upper side of the line of markd trees that devides the sd land in two parts & the sd CLOTWORTHY conveyed to NICHOLAS CATLETT and by the sd CATLETT conveyed to WILLIAM GIBSON who by his Last Will and Testament bequeathed the same to ELIZA, GIBSON Mother of MARY POWELL and also the moiety or half part of one hundred acres of land situated in the County aforesd which was bequeathed by the sd WILLIAM GIBSON to JAMES BARTLETT & for want of issue descended to ELIZABETH GIBSON Mother of the aforesaid MARY POWELL who with her Husband THOMAS POWELL conveyed the same to the aforesaid JOHN GETAR party to these presents (relation being had to the records of Essex County doth more fully appear) and all the Estate right whatsoever belonging of him the said JOHN GETAR unto the premises To Have and To Hold unto the said WILLIAM HENRY TERRETT his heirs & assigns.
