Biography

Robert Jones' origin is unknown. He married Joanna Osgood about 1658 in Salisbury. He gave a deposition in 1662 in Essex county aged 29, placing his birth year around 1633. He was still living in 1710; his death is not recorded.

16 February 1710/11, Robert Jones of Amesbury acknowledged a deed dated 4 April 1706 conveying to Benaiah Titcomb, Sr., of Newbury, gentleman, a parcel of land in Amesbury at a place called Bugsmouth which was granted and laid out to him and is the twenty-first lot in number.[1]

19 March 1719/20, Jonathan Jones of Amesbury, husbandman, sells to Charles Greenfield of Amesbury, husbandman, a lot of land in Amesbury which was granted to his honored father Robert Jones, late of Amesbury, deceased, being in lieu of a child's right.[2]
