Mrs. Martha Edna Dennis

Mrs. Martha Edna Dennis, 56, of Albemarle Health Care Center in Jackson died March 15 at Hinds General Hospital. She was a native of Covington County.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday. Thursday. March 17, at 2 p.m. at Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery in Covington County with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, James Dennis of Tickfaw, La., Jerry Dennis of Collins; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Jackson of Florence, Mrs. Agnes Sumrall of Richland; one brother, Hollis Jones of Mt. Olive; five sisters, Mrs. Virgie Stevens of Hattiesburg, Mrs. Pearlie Bynum of Mendenhall, Mrs. Annie Dennis of Mt. Olive, Mrs. Ella Bishop of Prentiss, Mrs. Myrtle McKinley of Collins; Collins; and five grandchildren.

Research Notes

Martha Edna was named after her grandmother Martha Ellen Stephens Jones and her identical twin sister, Margaret Ella was named after her grandmother Margaret Satcher Carney. My mother, Margaret Ella told me that in the house where she was born, the two previous families living there each had a set of twins.
