Biography

Mary was born in 1872. She is the daughter of Frederick Kearney and Minnie Burn. [1]

Mary Kearney 29 (daughter of Frederick Kearney and Mary Melvina Burn) married Ernest Kearney 37 (son of Thomas Kearney and Anne Lovell) on 19 Sep 1901 in Hobart. [2]

PUBLIC NOTICES. IN THE MATTER of Indentures of Mortgage dated the 11th July, 1900; 15th February, 1901 ; 10th March, 1903; 14th August, 1903; 22nd June, 1905, 11th April, 1906; 25th March, 1907; and made between the undermentioned MARY MALVINA KEARNEY, VIOLET MILDRED KEARNEY. FREDERICK JOHN KEARNEY, MARY KEARNEY, AMY GERTRUDE KEARNEY. EMILY ESTELLE KEARNEY, EDWIN JAMES CLIFFORD KEARNEY, IRENE ALWINDA KEARNEY. WINIFRED KATHLEEN KEARNEY, EUGENE MAUD MARION KEARNEY of the first and second parts respectively and WILLIAM ROSSENDELL PIERCE of Berriedale Orchardist of the third part and IN THE MATTER of Conveyancing and Law of Property Act 1884. To MARY MALVINA KEARNEY the Wife of Frederick John Kearney of Campania farmer, MARY KEARNEY wife of Ernest Kearney of Campania farmer, VIOLET MILDRED KEARNEY late of Campania Spinster. AMY GERTRUDE KEARNEY of Wellington New Zealand, IRENE ALWINDA KEARNEY of Bellerive, EUGENE MAUD MARION KEARNEY of Bellerive. WINIFRED KATHLEEN KEARNEY of Invermay Launceston, and EDWIN JAMES CLIFFORD KEARNEY of Burnie. DEFAULT having been made in payment of principal and interest moneys secured by the said Indentures of Mortgage from the above-named persons to me the said WILLIAM ROSSENDELL PIERCE over all that the life interest of the said MARY MALVINA KEARNEY in the sum of £1, 015 under the Will and codicil of GEORGE BURN of Roslyn on the Coal River Esquire deceased and three policies of Insurance with the National Mutual Life Association of Australia Ltd. Nos. 27577, 2777G, 27782 AND the respective shares AND interests of the said MARY KEARNEY, VIOLET MILDRED KEARNEY, AMY GERTRUDE KEARNEY, EMILY ESTELLE KEARNEY. IRENE ALWINDA KEARNEY. EUGENE MAUD MARION KEARNEY, WINIFRED KATHLEEN KEARNEY and EDWIN JAMES CLIFFORD KEARNEY of and in the said sum of £1,015 expectant on the determination of the life interest of the said MARY MELVINA KEARNEY and the interest of the said EDWIN JAMES CLIFFORD KEARNEY in Policy of Assurance No. 29283 in the National Mutual Life Association of Australia Ltd., the said WINIFRED KATHLEEN KEARNEY in Policy of Assurance No. 29033 in the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia Ltd, and the said EUGENE MAUD MARION KEARNEY in Policy of Assurance No. 29780 in the National Mutual Lite Association of Australasia Ltd., and the said IRENE ALWINDA KEARNEY in Policy of Assurance No. 1435237 in the Alumni Life Insurance Co. of New York, I, the said WILLIAM ROSSENDELL PIERCE hereby demand payment to me of the principal and Interest moneys owing under the security of the said Indentures of Mortgage and that if the same be not paid within one calendar month of the date of publication of this notice the said securities will be sold in accordance with Section 2i of the Conveyancing and Law of Property Act 1884. "RICHMOND. The funeral of the late Mrs. Mary Kearney took place at Richmond on Thursday, a large number of mourners attending. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. Earle, in St. Luke's Church, and at its conclusion the funeral moved to the Anglican cemetery. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Arthur Godfrey, Alfred Godfrey, J. Cooley, and H. Greg. The late Mrs. Mary Kearney was the daughter of the late F. J. and Melvina Kearney, of Campania, and granddaughter of the late George Burn, of Richmond, and the late William Kearney of Laburnum Park, two very old families of the district." [3]
