Biography

Richard was a Friend (Quaker)

Richard was born 23d 11m 1794.[1] He was the son of Richard and Anne Keese.

President Martin Van Buren arrived at Port Kent and was met there by Judge Fisk of Keeseville, accompanied by Richard Keese, in the former’s grand carriage with hinged steps that let down like those of the famous coach of Washington. In the evening the President’s visit was celebrated by a torchlight procession and illumination.” [2]
