Biography

Micajah was born December 1815 in Warren County, Kentucky. He maybe the son of John Keeth and Mary Allen. He passed away in June 1886 in Texas County, Missouri. I can't find any sources that show Micajah is the son of John Keeth and Mary Allen.

Micajah married Elizabeth James about 1848 in Miller County, Missouri.

In 1860, the family lived in Collin County, Texas. In the household are his wife Elizabeth and children: John M, James H, Nancy J, Aaron J, Eliza E Keeth. Also Mathew Figley, either a boarder or farmworker.[1]

Micajah served in the Civil War on the Union side in Company K, 6th Provisional Enrolled Missouri Militia. On 14 April 1898 his widow, Elizabeth Keeth, applied for pension based on his service, application number 674,408.[2] At the time Elizabeth was living in Arkansas with her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy J and David Brown.[3]

By 1870 family returned to Missouri and was living in Texas County, Missouri. In the household with Micajah and Elizabeth are children: James H, Nancy J, Aaron J, Louisa, and George W Keeth. Also Mary James, age 14 born in Texas, who may be a relative of Elizabeth.[4]

In 1880 Micajah and Elizabeth lived in Texas County, Missouri. In their household our sons Aaron J and George W. Keeth.[5]
