Biography

Warren Converse Kellogg is born on July 22, 1856 in Rome, New York. His parents are Henry Nelson Kellogg (1814-1892) and Miriam Maria Moulton (1819-?) [2].

On April 14, 1886, Warren marries Colinette Campbell Muir in Toronto, Canada [3]. There are several different spellings for Colinette’s first name (Collinette, Colinetta, etc). They have three children:

• Harold Moulton Kellogg 1888-1967 + (1917) Marie Van Wageninger c1898-?

• Amy Colinette Kellogg 1889-1970 + Albert Lesnsky

• Alexander Muir Kellogg 1897-? + (1920) Mary Knauff c1897-1926

The first two children are born in New York city. The third is born in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. In the United States census of 1900, the 43-year-old Warren (“Cong*S”) is living in Woodbridge, with Colinette (“Colimetta”) and the three children [4]. Warren is a commercial traveller (salesman).

In the 1910 census, the family is living in Yonkers, Westchester, New York [5]. There are only two children at home – Amy and Alexander. In the 1920 census, Warren and Colinette are living in Manhattan with two children: Harold M. and Amy [6]. In the 1930 census, they are still living in Manhattan [7]. Warren is now 73-years old. One child, the 32-year-old Alexander, has moved back in with his parents. He has with him two young daughters and he is a widower (his wife died in 1926).

Colinette dies in 1931 and in the 1940 census records – the last record we have of Warren – he is now an 83-year-old widower, living with his daughter, the 50-year-old Amy, in Manhattan [8].

It shows Alexander M (13) with a birth year of 1897 in New Jersey. [The middle name of the husband, Campbell, is actually Collinette’s middle name.]
