Biography

Ann (Kelly) Pride has Irish ancestors.

Ann Kelly, ^[1] daughter (or possibly stepdaughter?) of Thomas Kelly, ^{[2] [3] [4]} was born in about 1845 in Chelsea, Middlesex. ^{[2] [4] [5]} She married George Pride on 10 August 1863 at the Parish Church, Chelsea, Middlesex. ^{[2] [3]} She died on 16 November 1900 at 33 South Street, Dartford, Kent. ^{[6] [7]} Cause of death was Phthisis pulmonalis (tuberculosis). ^[6] She was buried on 24 November 1900 at Holy Trinity, Dartford, Kent. ^[8]

Research Notes

Some of the birth registrations of Ann's children give her maiden name as Kelly (or Kelley), but others give it as Collins (or Collin). It is not clear why, but it may suggest that Thomas Kelly was her stepfather not her biological father.
