Hermanus Kester Jr. was born 17 Jul 1744, in Kingwood, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. His parents are Hermanus Kester Sr. and Anne Mary Large Kester. ^{[1] [2]} Hermanus married Rachel Webster on 14 Dec 1762, in the Kingwood Monthly Meeting of Friends, Kingwood, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. ^{[1] [2]} Hermanus Jr. passed away after 25 Jan 1819. ^[1]

Hermanus and Rachel Kester were Quakers, and attended the Kingwood Monthly Meeting, in Kingwood, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. ^[1]

He married Rachel Webster 14, 10th month 1762. Rachel was born 28, 11th month 1742. Hermanus was taxed as a household in Kingwood Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in 1778. He owned one cow and one pig. His name does not appear on the 1780 tax list. The family may have moved to the Morris County, New Jersey area as their son, Richard, was married there."
