He grew up in Noble County Indiana, studied medicine at a medial college in Cincinatti, Ohio (graduated 1880).
After graduating he moved to Pella, Iowa and married Ida Shubring, and practiced there for over 10 years. "It was a time when country practice meant riding horseback over all kinds of roads"
In 1901 he moved to Lebanon, Oregon where he practiced medicine until retirement when he "took up farming" except for a period during WWI when he returned to his practice.
He was a city councilman, a Mason, a member of Eastern Star.
He is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Lebanon, Oregon [1]

Ww married Ada A. Schubring on 5 May 1881 in Pella, Marion, Iowa, United States.[3]
Dr was in an obituary on 20 March 1923. He died (age 73) on 18 March 1923.[4]
