George was born in 1842. He was the son of William Kingsman and Mary Tyler. [1]
George was born at at home on the 23rd August 1842. His birth was registered by his mother on the 30th of September. His mother's maiden name is recorded as Tyler and she made her mark instead of signing. Their home address is given as 6 Cottage Place, Goswell Road and his fathers profession as "Ivory Turner".
George married, aged 22, on the 6th November 1864 at St Johns Clerkenwell. [2] His profession was recorded as an Ivory turner, as was that of his father William Long Kingsman. His wife was named as Amelia Elizabeth Golding, aged 20, a spinster with no profession shown. Her father is given as being Richard Golding, with no profession shown. George signed his name and Amelia made her mark. Witnesses were John Harris (made his mark) and Mary Maria Harris who signed her own name. The address given for both parties is 4 Berkley Street.
Banns had been read on the 16/23/30 October at St James, Clerkenwell.
George Kingsman, wood turner, died of phthisis in Wandsworth in 1896 [3]
