Just thought I'd add to the confusion about Thomas. I ran across an entry for Thomas in the book "New England Families" by William Richard Cutter, Vol I, p 40, link: https://archive.org/details/newenglandfamili01cutt/page/43/mode/1up?view=theater. It has a birth year and place. Marriage to Elizabeth Knight. Only 1 child identified, Joseph.
Generally one should take any of the information in a "Cutter" book with a skeptical attitude. However in this case it looks as though it's correct. birth, right date and Salem Village (their records are recorded in Salem) did become Danvers. Right wife etc. The last sentence is not very clear - "Among their children was Thomas, who removed to Preston, Connecticut, in 1715 ; Joseph, mentioned below. You need to insert the word "and" after the semicolon (ie Thomas and Joseph). In addition it could also include other children not mentioned.
Thank you for your reply. I was developing a sense of skepticism as I read through the book as there was no sources quoted. What is your source of skepticism?
I've looked at a lot of these "Cutter" type books. Mainly because they were, pre-internet, and still are easily accessible. My comments on them can be found on my Sources page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:GSBS Scroll down to Cutter, William Richard.
In looking through the profile and scrolling through the descendants I notice a couple things that look like duplicates. (1) wives Elizabeth (Knight) Kinne and Elizabeth (Knight) Kenney. (2) Sons Daniel Kenney and Daniel Kinne (who both married Mary Richards). Perhaps a couple merges are appropriate.
Keny-10 and Kenney-1474 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. Many variations of the spelling of the surname. Salem VR lists it as Keny, but throughout the town's records, it is variable.
